Its just a pier. Do not eat at the restaurant at the end of the pier. Some folks fishing but you have to ask yourself why as the water around the pier and beach are polluted and highly dangerous. Pos… Full review by Terry B

From San Diego International Airport, 1) 18 miles if you take the I 5 South then exit 75 west (over Coronado Bridge) through Coronado or 2) 21 miles if you take I 5 South all the way then exit Palm Ave going west (both according to Google Maps). I would recommend the former through Coronado as it’s more scenic and you have the option to make stops at Coronado if you have time.

Imperial Beach is in California. Just North of the Border of Mexico. It is the most Southwesternly City in the United States. You can see Mexico from the pier.
