Super Bowl LIX promises to be historic, with the Kansas City Chiefs looking to become the first team ever to win three straight Lombardi trophies, and the Philadelphia Eagles aiming to avenge their 2022 title loss with their first-ever repeat Super Bowl appearance under the same coach and quarterback tandem.

The two teams took each other on in Super Bowl 57 back in the 2022-23 season in Glendale, Arizona. The Chiefs pulled out a 38-35 victory over the Eagles in that matchup, which ended on a controversial pass interference called on Philadelphia cornerback James Bradberry.

The only players on the defensive side of the football who played more than 40% of snaps in 2022 and also in 2024 were Darius Slay, Josh Sweat and C.J. Gardner-Johnson — who ironically enough left for one season with the Lions before returning for this one.
