Republican Georgia state Senator Colton Moore received a hero's welcome at the State Capitol Tuesday following his arrest there a few weeks ago.

The state senator had been subject to a ban from the House chamber over previous disparaging remarks about late House speaker David Ralston.

Burns announced Friday afternoon that he would modify the ban to allow Moore, a Trenton Republican, to attend proceedings in the House when members of both chambers are present, such as when lawmakers heard from the governor Thursday.

Moore was previously banned from the house for making disparaging remarks about Former Speaker David Ralston, who died in 2022.
